Manntech dominates Architectural Digest’s Most Beautiful Skyscrapers List

The influential industry publication Architectural Digest has released their selections for The 27 Most Beautiful Skyscrapers in the World. Manntech is proud to have delivered premium building maintenance systems to no fewer than five of these world-famous structures, solidifying their status as the industry leader when it comes to custom façade access solutions.

The celebrated architectural achievements serviced by Manntech

Al Hamra Tower, Kuwait

Al Hamra Tower in Kuwait was noted for its mixed materials and kinetic form, with a rotating floorplate transitioning between stone and glass elevations. The facade access solution for this complex structure appears deceptively simple in execution, with a combination of roof-based systems and curved tracks following the curve of the building in order to seamlessly blend with the distinctive design.

John Hancock Centre, Chicago

John Hancock Centre, or 200 Clarendon, displays an iconic tapering geometric design which helps define the Chicago skyline. Manntech was tasked with replacing the outdated window washing machines from the 1970s and used advanced laser scanning technology to incorporate a modern building maintenance system into the existing parameters.

Petronas Towers, Kuala Lumpur

Petronas Towers by renowned architect Cesar Pelli is instantly recognisable for its twin tower and skybridge design. The complete building access solution provided for Petronas Towers features two BMUs on each tower and two for the skybridge and necessitated a number of innovations by Manntech including the first ever soft rope system.

Jin Mao Tower, Shanghai

Jin Mao Tower is inspired by the traditional Chinese pagoda which creates a multiple stepped facade tapering towards roof level. Manntech was asked to provide additional BMUs to improve functionality after the building was completed and delivered two compact units which fitted within the small area available while providing sufficient outreach for complete facade coverage.

Shanghai Tower, Shanghai

Shanghai Tower is defined by a tiered structure, twisting form and curved roof. Again, this unique design called for unique access solutions from Manntech including seven BMUs with particularly manoeuvrable davit arms and the world’s first ever 3D climbing BMU.
